Kite Season
Vietnam is a great kitesurfing destination in Southeast Asia. Many times you’ll hear it is a kitesurfing capital of Asia. The country’s scenic views and beautiful beaches make it literal heaven.
The windy season starts in November and lasts to the end of March. The sea is warm and the air is hot, Vietnam is a great escape from winter! There is a second kite season in Vietnam (June-August), you can catch some nice windy days, the wind is lighter and there are not that many windy days as during winter season.
The most famous spot is definitely Mui Ne and the area, located east from Ho Chi Minh City, with stronger wind and a really big crowd of kitesurfers. You won’t be bored there, plenty of people and social life, bia (beer), and tasty pho, other Vietnamese food and of course coffee!
If you’re up to the more exotic location, Phu Quy island is another windy place in South China Sea.
