Poland might be more famous for its hearty pierogi and medieval architecture, but it’s also home to some awesome kitesurfing spots. With its long Baltic Sea coastline, flat water lagoons, and reliable winds, Poland is a hidden gem for kitesurfing. Plus, after a day of kiting, you can refuel with delicious Polish food—just try not to fall into a pierogi coma before your next session!

The kitesurfing season in Poland runs from May to September, when the weather is warmer (for Poland) and the winds are steady. The wind ranges between 10 to 25 knots, depending on the spot and the time of year. While the summer months bring mild winds perfect for beginners, the spring and early autumn are known for stronger wind, making them ideal for more advanced riders. Just remember, the Baltic Sea isn’t tropical, so bring your wetsuit and a sense of adventure.

Hel Peninsula: No, not that kind of “hell”! The Hel Peninsula is one of Poland’s most popular kite spots, especially around the town of Chałupy – Pucka Bay, Jastarnia and Hel Kaper. It’s famous for its shallow, flat waters and steady winds, making it perfect for beginners. It’s also home to several kite schools, so there’s no excuse not to give it a try! Just be prepared for some crowds during peak season.

Just a short drive from Gdańsk, Rewa offers flat water conditions and consistent winds. The sandbar here creates perfect conditions for practicing new tricks, and it’s a great spot for both beginners and advanced kiters. After your session, head into Gdańsk for some history and a hearty meal.

For those who prefer a bit more space, Łeba is a quieter, less crowded alternative to Hel. With strong winds and wide beaches, ideal for long downwind sessions.

Situated on the other side of Vistula Spit, Kadyny beach spot is known for its steady winds and uncrowded waters. It’s a great place to practice tricks in peace, and the surrounding landscape is beautiful with forests and dunes.

If you’re looking for a unique kitesurfing destination with great winds, stunning views, and a side of pierogi, Poland might just be your next kite paradise!
