The kitesurfing season in Montenegro runs from May to September, with peak conditions in June, July, and August. The main wind driving the action is the Maestral, a steady thermal wind that picks up in the afternoon, ranging from 15 to 25 knots. In the early morning or off-season, you might get some lighter breezes, but summer is when things truly come alive. The Adriatic water is warm enough to ditch the wetsuit, and the long, sandy beaches mean plenty of space to launch and land.

Velika Plaža – This is Montenegro’s kitesurfing mecca. Stretching 12 km near the town of Ulcinj, Velika Plaža (which literally means “Big Beach”) offers consistent wind, shallow waters, and a relaxed vibe.
