Poland might be better known for its pierogi and medieval castles, but its Baltic Sea coastline is becoming a go-to spot for kitesurfers. With flat water lagoons, consistent winds, and welcoming beaches, it’s a hidden gem in Europe’s kitesurfing scene. And the best part? After a day on the water, you can feast on Polish food to refuel!

Poland’s kite season runs from May to September. During these months, the wind is generally reliable, ranging from 10 to 25 knots. Summer is great for beginners, with lighter breezes, while spring and autumn offer stronger winds for more experienced kiters. Just be sure to bring your wetsuit, because the Baltic Sea’s waters aren’t exactly tropical.

One of Poland’s most famous kitesurfing spots, Hel Peninsula, especially around Chałupy, offers flat waters, steady winds, and plenty of schools for beginners. The shallow water stretches for miles, making it ideal for anyone learning new tricks or just starting out. Just don’t be surprised if you share the spot with lots of fellow kite enthusiasts—it’s popular for a reason!

A short drive from Gdańsk, Rewa boasts a sandbar that creates perfect flat-water conditions, ideal for beginners and freestyle riders. The wind here is consistent, and it’s less crowded than Hel, making it a top spot for those looking for a more laid-back session.

A quieter alternative to Hel, Łeba offers strong winds and wide-open beaches perfect for wave riding. It’s great for kiters who prefer longer downwind rides and want to avoid the busy beaches.

Krynica Morska: Situated on the Vistula Spit, this spot is known for its steady winds and uncrowded waters. It’s a great place to practice tricks in peace, and the surrounding landscape is beautiful with forests and dunes—perfect for a kiteboarding adventure in nature.

Located near Hel, Puck Bay offers flat water and good wind conditions for both beginners and experienced kiters. With shallow waters and a scenic coastline, it’s a perfect spot to enjoy a peaceful session and stunning views.

So, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, Poland’s kitesurfing spots have something for everyone. And after a day on the water, treat yourself to some pierogi and a cold beer—you’ve earned it!
