Kite Season
Jordan, a land known for its ancient wonders and desert landscapes, might not be the first place that comes to mind for kitesurfing. However, its share of the Red Sea coast, stretching for about 27 kilometers (17 miles), offers kitesurfers an unexpected kite experience.
The kitesurfing season in Jordan typically lasts from April to October, with the prime season occurring during the summer months. During this period, the region experiences consistent thermal winds, commonly known as the “Aqaba Wind” or “Shamal.” These winds blow from the northwest, providing excellent kitesurfing conditions.
Apart from kitesurfing, the Aqaba area offers excellent diving spots, including the Underwater military museum. There are also many historic sites such as Mamluk Castle, and Wadi Rum nature protected area with desert rock formations.
