If you’re extremely adventurous, you can head north to Mannar to explore hidden kite opportunities. It is possible to kite in other spots close to Colombo, but Kalpitya is the main hub. While no extraordinary luxury, you can find some nice accommodation on booking. Sri Lanka has two kite seasons: June to early September, and December – February.
