New Caledonia, a French territory located in the South Pacific east of Australia, is a gem for kitesurfers. With its crystal-clear waters, stunning coral reefs, and consistent trade winds, New Caledonia offers kiteboarders a dream destination in a tropical paradise with more than 200 windy days per year, and the world’s second-largest reef.

During the wet season, the wind, known as the “the Alizés” is stronger, which makes the best season to kite from November to March.

The flat water inside the lagoons and the challenging waves outside the reef offer diverse kiting experiences, making New Caledonia suitable for riders of all skill levels.

The capital city of Nouméa, located on Grande Terre, offers kitesurfing opportunities along its beautiful beaches. Between Anse Vata and Parc Municipal du Ouen Toro are popular beaches known for their easy access and reliable winds. Riders can enjoy flat water conditions within the protective barrier reef. You can even ride to Îlot Maître or get there by boat taxi.

Bourail, on the west coast of Grande Terre, is known for its strong winds and wave-riding opportunities. Poé Beach is a favorite among wave riders, offering consistent waves and open ocean conditions.
