EditKite Beach Nafpaktos is one of the most beginner-friendly kitesurfing spots in Greece. From April to October, steady thermal winds bring moderate (mostly 15–25 knots), consistent, and onshore conditions. The area features shallow, waist-to-knee-deep sandy choppy waters. During high tide, there are also flat-water areas just five minutes downwind — including a river mouth and a lagoon. For reference, an 80 kg rider typically uses 9 m and 12 m kites throughout the season.
The spot is located on the edge of Nafpaktos and is easily accessible by foot or car.
Facilities on site include: free parking right by the beach, fresh water for showering and rinsing equipment, a kite school, a kite shop, and gear rental. Food and coffee can also be delivered directly to the beach.
It can get a bit busier in the Summer and weekends.
It is your responsability to check whether kitesurfing is allowed at the spot; you might need a 'special permit' or membership from a local kite organization, etc. Local rules can change. Respect others - kiters or not; kite safely and enjoy the wind!
