Unique landscapes and history, a bridge between Europe and Asia – Turkey offers kitesurfers an exciting mix with great food, too.

The kitesurfing season in Turkey varies depending on the region but generally spans from April to October and peaks between June and September. During this time, Turkey experiences consistent thermal winds that create ideal conditions for kitesurfing. Aegean and Mediterranean coasts have reliable winds for kiteboarders.

Alaçatı, on the Çeşme Peninsula, is a top kitesurfing destination on the Aegean coast. The region is famous for its “Meltemi” wind, which blows consistently during the summer months. Riders can enjoy both flat water and wave riding conditions. More south, Akyaka is a picturesque kitesurfing spot known for its strong and consistent winds. The flat water of the Gokova Bay is perfect for freestyle riding and learning.

The largest island in the Aegean Sea – Gökçeada, offers kitesurfers a unique experience. With its shallow waters and scenic beauty, it’s an excellent spot for beginners and those looking for a tranquil kiting experience.

West of Izmir, Gülbahçe offers a lively kitesurfing scene with consistent winds and welcoming kite schools.
