With over three-hundred windy days a year, Peru is a must-go destination for kitesurfers & kiteboarders. Especially, if you’re looking for wild places away from the crowds even in high season. You will find conditions optimal for beginners and advanced kiters and especially – wave lovers.
From north to south, a desert alike coastline is 3000 km long and have great conditions for strong thermal winds to evolve. So, don’t let the official wind statistic scare you away – wind here is thermal. Numerous lagoons and some more lakes, add up to consider Peru as the undiscovered kitesurfing paradise.
Peru has an eternal summer with sunny and hot weather the whole year round. For kitesurfers, the season is all year round but depends where you go – October to April (around Pacasmayo) or till July if you move norther towards Máncora, and April – October (Paracas Bay). In addition, it is windy pretty much all year round! Among those, there are plenty of undiscovered and wild places.
If you’re wave lover – Pacasmayo is home to the longest kitesurfable wave in the world and many claims it to be the best wave spot. If you’re flat-water enthusiast head towards Paracas bay which offers a great lagoon next to the national park and stable thermal winds.
